Overview

The Mathematics and Computer Science department at MCBS is dedicated to excellence in teaching and service. It endeavours for excellence in teaching by offering curriculum that is current and responsive to industry needs. The Department offers several undergraduate programs such as Bachelor of science in Computer Science, Information systems, Information Security, Applied Technologies, and Statistics, which provide students with high-quality education and prepare them for long and successful careers in industry and government. At the postgraduate level, the department offers master’s degree program in Information Technology with emphasis areas in Cyber Security, Networking, Project Management and ERP. Graduates are prepared to fulfill the immediate needs of the computer industry, to adapt themselves to rapidly evolving industry needs, and further their education at the graduate level.

Mission

The mission of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science is to develop and offer the curriculum necessary to support the programs of the College in the areas of Mathematics and Computing as well as the promotion of scholarly and professional activities of the faculty.

Goal

The goals of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science are to:

  • Prepare students for professional careers and further studies in computing disciplines and statistics.
  • Support other department programs with program specific service courses in the fields of mathematics and computing
  • Support the college and larger community with faculty and student research.
