Admission and Registration Criteria for

Arabic Medium Instructed Graduate Programs:

Thank you for your interest in the Graduate Arabic Programs at the Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS). We strive to provide a high-quality education and a supportive learning environment for our postgraduate students.

To ensure a smooth admission and registration process, please review the following criteria:

1. Eligibility Requirements:

Admission Requirements for bachelor’s degree holders:

To be eligible for the program, applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a university or college accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education in Oman. The following details to apply:

  • Students with a bachelor’s degree in business specializations may be directly accepted if their overall GPA is not less than “good.”
  • Students with a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, humanities, or scientific fields other than business, with an overall GPA of not less than “good,” may be accepted after completing four bridging courses.
  • Students with a bachelor’s degree in business specializations, with an acceptable overall GPA, may be accepted into the program after completing three bridging courses and having a minimum of two years of work experience in the field of business.
  • Students with a bachelor’s degree in non-business specializations, with an acceptable overall GPA, may be accepted after completing four bridging courses and having a minimum of two years of work experience in the field of business.
  • All accepted students must pass the Arabic language proficiency test before starting the master’s program.

Admission Requirements for Diploma Holders (After General Secondary Education):

To be eligible for the program, applicants must hold a Diploma degree from a university or college accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education in Oman. The following details to apply:

  • The cumulative GPA should not be less than 2.00.
  • The applicant should have a minimum of six years of experience in relevant fields to the program.
  • The applicant should have completed training courses that support their practical experience.
  • The applicant’s age should not be less than 26 years old.
  • Completion of four bridging courses before joining the program is required.
  • Diploma holder applicants should receive MOHRE approval before entry to the program.
  • All accepted students must pass the Arabic language proficiency test before starting the master’s program.
  • Please note that these requirements are subject to change and applicants are advised to refer to the official guidelines provided by the Ministry of Higher Education in Oman for the most up-to-date information.

2. Application Procedure:

  • Complete the application form.
  • Submit all required supporting documents, including official transcripts, degree certificates, CV, statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, and any other program-specific requirements.
  • Pay the non-refundable application fee as specified in the application guidelines.

3. Admission Decision:

  • Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed by the respective department or program committee.
  • Admission decisions are based on a holistic evaluation of the applicant’s academic background, relevant work experience, statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, and any other program-specific criteria.
  • You will be notified of the admission decision via email or through the online application portal.

4. Registration Procedure:

  • Upon receiving the admission offer, you will be provided with detailed information on the registration process and deadlines.
  • Pay the required registration fees within the specified timeframe to secure your place in the program.
  • Attend the designated orientation sessions and complete any necessary paperwork.
  • Consult with your assigned academic advisor to plan your course schedule and select the appropriate courses for your program.
  • Students will be registered for their courses by the registration officer.
