Overview
The Master of Islamic Banking and Finance is a postgraduate degree program designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and skills in the field of Islamic banking and finance.
This program is specifically tailored to meet the growing demand for professionals who are well-versed in the principles and practices of Islamic finance.
The program aims to equip students with a deep understanding of the Islamic financial system, its underlying principles, and its practical applications.
It covers a wide range of subjects, including Islamic economics, Islamic law (Shariah), Islamic banking operations, Islamic capital markets, risk management in Islamic finance, and financial planning in accordance with Islamic principles.
It equips graduates with a strong foundation to contribute to the development and expansion of Islamic banking and finance globally.
Admission Criteria
- Fully Admitted student with an earned Bachelor in Islamic Banking and Finance or related discipline as Accounting, Economy and Finance with GPA of 2.5.
- Fully Admitted student with an earned Bachelor’s degree from a Business College or related discipline with GPA of 2.5 and with minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience work in relevant field, reviewed and based on the recommendation of the Graduate Admissions Committee.
- Conditionally Admitted Student with an earned Bachelor’s degree from a Business College or related discipline with GPA of 2.0 to 2.49, are required to successfully complete 3 courses in the Certificate - “Islamic Banking and Financial Services“(Foundation courses).
- Conditionally Admitted Student with an earned Bachelor’s degree from a Shariah College in Jurisprudence transactions major with GPA between 2.0 and above, are required to successfully complete 3 courses in the Certificate - “Advanced Financial Management Banking and Systems “ (Foundation courses) with the exemption of Shariah College graduates of other majors other than (Jurisprudence transactions) major provided that the graduates present proof to not less than 3 years practical experience in finance and banking.
- Language requirements: TOEFL score of 550 or Academic IELTS band of 6.0

- Bachelor’s degree Transcript (Students with transferred credits must ensure to submit transcripts of all attended universities).
- Bachelor’s degree Certificate.
- MOHE Validation Letter (For students who have studied at universities outside Oman).
- CV with two references listed (Name of person, Phone number and email).
- Work experience certificate (for working professionals).
- MOHE information form (available at Graduate Admissions Office).
- Application for Admissions (available at Graduate Admissions Office).
- Copy of passport and ID.
- 4 passport size photographs.
- English Placement Test Results (Students with valid TOEFL or IELTS must ensure to submit the original score card).
