The verification visit, conducted on February 19-20, 2025, confirmed the commitment to delivering a high-quality IB education.
The authorisation of the IB MYP at DPS marks an exciting new chapter, complementing the existing authorisation for the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). As an IB World School, the focus continues to be on academic excellence and holistic student development, fostering lifelong learners who are prepared to meet global challenges with confidence and curiosity.
Throughout the authorisation process, valuable feedback was provided by the visiting IB verification team, who acknowledged the dedication of the staff, students, and parents. The team commended the commitment to continuous growth, resilience in opening a new school during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the hard work invested in developing and implementing the MYP.
The IB’s rigorous authorisation process consists of two distinct phases—candidacy and authorisation—evaluating every aspect of a school’s readiness, including existing programs, teaching methodologies, and future development plans. Schools must meet 84 stringent standards, and the successful completion of this process reflects the institution’s commitment to academic excellence. In the final evaluation, DPS received 6 commendations for outstanding practice, highlighting the high standards of program implementation.
The IB Middle Years Programme nurtures active, lifelong learners, encouraging inquiry-based learning, problem-solving skills, and meaningful engagement with global issues. DPS Principal, Ms. Elisabeth Craig, states, “By embracing a collaborative and multilingual learning environment, strong communication skills, self-reflection abilities, and a sense of responsibility toward educational journeys are developed by our students.”
