Effective policy management is crucial for maintaining compliance, ensuring accountability, and fostering a transparent organizational environment. To address this critical aspect, the Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) hosted an informative workshop titled “Policy Management System,” presented by Mr. Said Al Harthy and Dr. Rene Paquibut. This event, part of the KSI series for faculty, aimed at enhancing the understanding and implementation of policy management systems within the institution.
The workshop began with an introduction by Mr. Said Al Harthy, who provided an overview of policy management and its significance in an educational context. He explained how a robust policy management system can streamline operations, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Emphasizing the importance of clear and accessible policies, Mr. Al Harthy discussed the role of effective communication in policy dissemination and enforcement.
Dr. Rene Paquibut followed with a detailed presentation on the components of a comprehensive policy management system. He outlined the key stages of policy development, including drafting, reviewing, approving, and implementing policies. Dr. Paquibut highlighted the importance of involving various stakeholders in the policy-making process to ensure that policies are well-informed and aligned with the institution’s objectives.
The workshop also focused on the use of technology in policy management. Mr. Al Harthy introduced participants to digital tools and platforms that can facilitate policy creation, distribution, and monitoring. He demonstrated how these tools can enhance transparency and accountability by providing real-time access to policy documents and tracking compliance. Participants were encouraged to explore and adopt these technologies to improve their policy management practices.
Throughout the session, interactive discussions and group activities were incorporated to engage the participants and facilitate practical learning. Attendees worked on case studies to identify gaps in existing policies and develop strategies for improvement. These collaborative exercises allowed faculty members to share their experiences and insights, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Dr. Paquibut addressed the challenges associated with policy implementation and enforcement. He provided practical tips for overcoming resistance to change and ensuring that policies are consistently applied across the institution. Emphasizing the importance of regular training and communication, Dr. Paquibut encouraged participants to develop clear guidelines and procedures to support policy adherence.
The workshop concluded with a Q&A session, where participants had the opportunity to seek further clarification and discuss specific policy-related issues. The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their appreciation for the practical knowledge and actionable insights provided by Mr. Al Harthy and Dr. Paquibut. The interactive nature of the workshop, combined with the expertise of the presenters, made the event a valuable and enriching experience.
