The MCBS Ambassador role is incredibly varied, which gives students a range of opportunities to enhance their personal development. In addition, the role is incredibly flexible allowing students to fit their work shifts around their study time and extra-curricular activities.
Being an MCBS Ambassador involves:
- Providing positive role models to those thinking of studying at MCBS
- Supporting the smooth running of College events, such as Open Days and school visits to campus. The opportunities available include participating in the smooth running of MCBS events like Open Days, fairs, campus visits, and as well as other initiatives and events.

- The principal duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Represent MCBS in a competent and professional manner in all dealings.
- Maintain a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all visitors to MCBS and towards event participants.
- Proactively provide practical support to MCBS staff running events. This may include Open Days and similar large scale events e.g. helping set-up, welcoming visitors, facilitating campus tours, answering questions, giving directions and assisting with registration.
- Discuss and share experience of own education, past and present, thus acting as a positive and enthusiastic role model for Higher Education and student life. This could include giving presentations to groups of students / parents / teachers about aspects of university student life, taking part in student Q&A sessions or creating a range of digital content about your experience such as TikToks, Instagram reels, blogs and vlogs.
- Participate actively in all sessions and activities.
- Student Ambassadors will be required, from time to time, to fulfil other duties as appropriate to their skills. In some circumstances, this work will be for other departments in the College. Involvement in these events and activities will help you develop employability skills and build your CV.
