Master of Commercial Law

Overview

The Master of Commercial Law is a postgraduate degree program designed to provide advanced legal knowledge and expertise in the field of commercial law. This program is specifically tailored for individuals seeking to deepen their understanding of commercial legal principles, regulations, and practices to excel in legal and business environments.

Students study areas such as legal systems, contract law, tort law, legal research, and legal writing to build a comprehensive understanding of the legal framework.

The program explores corporate governance principles and regulations, corporate compliance, risk management, and international commercial law.

Students develop advanced legal research and writing skills, enabling them to analyze legal issues, conduct legal research, and communicate legal arguments effectively.

It addresses contemporary issues such as digital commerce, e-commerce, data protection, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies' impact on commercial transactions and legal frameworks.

Admission Criteria

Bachelor’s Degree in Commercial Law or LL. B from a university recognized by the Oman Ministry of Higher Education with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 2.5.

  • Applicants with a Bachelor in Commercial law and GPA between 2.0 and 2.5 will be required to take bridging courses (3 courses).
  • Students must demonstrate proficiency in English language equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 500 or relevant international test.
  • Applicant from other disciplines (Non-Law programs) will be required to take extensive bridging courses (4 courses).
