The program was hosted by SME Development Fund’s Trainer Executive, Mr. Qais Al Bulushi. Attendees included interns of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Incubation (CEBI), in addition to MCBS Entrepreneurship Club (eClub) officers/members and students from other colleges across the region.
The structure of the program was well-organized; it started with an icebreaker for students to test and nudge their focus, which was then followed by other activities that included analysis of case studies to test students’ critical thinking skills regarding leadership personalities. There were multiple discussions regarding communication skills, time management, and the importance of teamwork.
According to the students' feedback, the best activities included the one on “Building the longest bridge using limited tools” in which students worked as groups and chose their leader to lead them and most importantly, had one goal: Winning. The attendees also enjoyed the “Presentations portion of the program” in which each student had to prepare for a presentation within only 5-minutes and speak for 3-minutes. The students had the opportunity to realize their strengths and areas of improvements in public speaking through constructive feedback by the Trainer.
The second session of the “Inma Leadership Program” will continue on Thursday, 22nd February 2018. It will also be held at MCBS, specifically at the Seminar Room – 1st floor. The second session will be organized by one of the groups that attended the first session to practice their teamwork and leadership skills in successfully putting an event together.
